What will it take for our People to Unite globally? We can't rely on so called Black leaders to guide us in the right direction. Many years we have sung the same tune, We Shall Overcome while blaming others for our downfall but should part of the blame be placed on us? We allow division to stifle us based on Religion, social differences etc. We will not rise above our current situation until we annihilate our differences. Global Black Unity may not be as far fetched as it seems after all, we came pretty close to global Black Unity during segregation and the Civil Rights Movement. Many of our People formed an alliance. They demanded equality, freedom, fought for their rights and did not allow their socioeconomic classification to keep them bound. Global Black Unity is obtainable but we must first break free from the mental shackles which has enslaved our minds since being abducted and forced into slavery. We are also disconnected from Mother Africa. When we begin to see ourselves as Africans and reclaim our roots the transformation will begin. I will remain hopeful that one day, we just may witness Global Black Unity but first we must renovate our minds.

Thank you Nigeria, your analysis is accurate. The two most important factors is, setting aside our differences and reconnecting with Mother Africa. Seeing ourselves as Africans first before anything else is the ultimate goal. I live in America but I do not consider myself an American I consider myself an African living in America.

Is it really possible to annihilate differences. I often hear people talking about our differences as an obstacle to unite but it seems to me that we should accept each other with our differences but when our own interest or situation is concerned, when we are in danger we should certainly be able to unite as one. Reconnecting with Mother Africa is the key because despite our diffences we should know we are one to be able to unite. Unfortunately, too many of us see themselves as part of a society or a system which has been imposed to us and in which we are no nothing but a pawn. We need to know that we are a PEOPLE. WE ARE AFRICANS !
